Superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Coolie is one of the most awaited action thrillers of 2025. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film has generated massive buzz ever since its announcement. Recently, actor Sundeep Kishan visited the film’s set and got an exclusive preview of the movie. After watching 45 minutes of the film, he confidently predicted that Coolie will cross Rs 1000 crore at the box office.
Sundeep Kishan Clarifies His Involvement in Coolie
There were speculations that Sundeep Kishan was part of Coolie, but the actor clarified that he is not in the film. He explained that he visited the sets simply because he is a close friend of director Lokesh Kanagaraj and wanted to witness Rajinikanth’s star power in person. His visit, however, turned out to be special, as he got a chance to watch an extended preview of the action-packed film.
Speaking about his experience, Sundeep said, “I am not part of Coolie. I just came to the sets as Lokesh is my friend and to witness Superstar Rajinikanth. I watched 45 minutes of the film. It will definitely collect Rs 1000 crore.” His statement has added to the excitement surrounding the film.
Star-Studded Cast and Production Details
Coolie boasts a powerhouse cast, with Rajinikanth in the lead role. The film also features Nagarjuna, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan, Reba Monica John, and Junior MGR in pivotal roles. Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan is rumored to have a special cameo, making the film even more exciting for fans.
Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and produced by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures, Coolie is being made on a grand scale. The film’s music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, with Girish Gangadharan handling cinematography and Philomin Raj in charge of editing. The film is expected to have a worldwide theatrical release in standard and IMAX formats.
When Will Coolie Release?
Filming for Coolie began in July 2024, with major scenes shot in Chennai, Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Jaipur, and Bangkok. The first-look poster was revealed on March 28, 2024, followed by an official teaser on April 22, 2024. To mark Rajinikanth’s birthday on December 12, 2024, the makers unveiled a 59-second special glimpse featuring the song Chikitu Vibe.
Though the exact release date has not been announced, Coolie is expected to hit the big screens in August 2025.
