If that happens, Radha could be considered for the mayoral race.

Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh State Election Commissioner Anil Chandra Punetha announced the schedule for local body elections on Wednesday. The state government has also issued gazette notifications finalising reservations for Mayor, Municipal Chairperson and Zilla Parishad Chairperson posts.

At the same time, discussions over seat-sharing among the TDP, Jana Sena and BJP for the local body elections are underway. Jana Sena leaders Nadendla Manohar, Lingamaneni Ramesh and Hariprasad held discussions with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu at the CM’s camp office. TDP Andhra Pradesh president Palla Srinivasa Rao and Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu also attended the meeting.

With local body elections approaching, Vangaveeti Radhakrishna’s entry into Jana Sena has added a new dimension to Vijayawada’s political equations. Whether he will emerge as the alliance’s mayoral candidate remains to be seen.
