The much-awaited film NTRNeel, directed by Prashanth Neel and starring Jr NTR, is set to begin filming this month. According to sources, Rukmini Vasanth and Tovino Thomas have officially joined the cast. Jr NTR will join the shoot next month. Despite the delay, the makers are confident about releasing the film on January 9, 2026.
Jr NTR and Prashanth Neel’s Collaboration
NTRNeel is one of the biggest upcoming projects in Telugu cinema. Directed by Prashanth Neel, known for KGF and Salaar, the film is currently in its pre-production stage. The project was officially announced with a pooja ceremony earlier in 2024.
Tovino Thomas and Rukmini Vasanth’s Telugu Debut
Malayalam star Tovino Thomas is making his Telugu debut with this film. He had earlier expressed interest in working in Telugu cinema, and this project marks his entry. His recent film “Identity” performed well in theaters.
Kannada actress Rukmini Vasanth will also debut in Telugu with NTRNeel. She was last seen in the action thriller Bagheera, which was written by Prashanth Neel.
Biju Menon’s Return to Telugu Cinema
Veteran Malayalam actor Biju Menon is also part of the film. He last appeared in Telugu films Ranam and Khatarnak in 2006. His return adds more excitement to the project.
Possible Title: ‘Enter the Dragon’ or ‘NTR the Dragon’?
While the official title is yet to be announced, reports suggest that the makers are considering Enter the Dragon as the primary choice. However, this title might cause legal issues since it is already associated with Bruce Lee’s classic film.
As a backup, they are also considering NTR the Dragon. The title cleverly uses Jr NTR’s initials N (En), T (Te), R (R). This could serve as an alternative or even a tagline for the main title. However, no official confirmation has been made.
Jr NTR’s Other Projects
Jr NTR recently delivered Devara: Part 1, which was successful in both Telugu and Hindi markets. He is now busy filming War 2, a high-profile Bollywood action film alongside Hrithik Roshan. Meanwhile, Prashanth Neel is also working on Salaar 2 and KGF 3.
With a stellar cast and a powerhouse director, NTRNeel is shaping up to be one of the biggest Telugu films of 2026. Fans are eagerly waiting for more updates!
