If you are a fan of Malayalam movies, you may be interested in ‘Turbo’. The action comedy film, starring Mammootty in the lead, is directed by Vysakh.
SonyLIV is going to stream the film from August 2nd.
Interestingly, Telugu actor Sunil has a role in the movie. Kannada actor Raj B Shetty has a prominent part. Kabir Duhan Singh, Anjana Jayaprakash, Niranjana Anoop, Bindu Panicker, Dileesh Pothan and Shabareesh Varma are also part of the cast.
Was the film critically acclaimed? Not much. Upon its release, Film Companion opined that its meandering writing undoes some of the advantages emerging from Mammootty’s charming performance. “Mammootty’s charge was held back by a weak screenplay,” opined The Hindu. “The lack of strong character arcs and fresh ideas in storytelling derails a potential fun ride,” opined The New Indian Express.
