Pawan Kalyan made strong comments against comparisons being drawn between his political journey and that of Vijay. Speaking at a party meeting held at the Jana Sena central office in Mangalagiri, Pawan said the political situations in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh are completely different and should not be compared.
Reacting to discussions surrounding Vijay’s TVK party and its rapid political rise, Pawan expressed frustration over people advising him to follow a similar path in Andhra Pradesh. He questioned why developments in another state should be used as a model for AP politics. He criticized the unnecessary comparisons, saying people were creating debates without understanding the ground realities.
“I Was Defeated in Both Constituencies”
Pawan recalled his difficult political journey and pointed out that when he contested alone in the 2019 elections, he faced defeat in both constituencies. He said Andhra Pradesh politics is far more complex and that his party and cadre had gone through years of struggle and hardships. Instead of sending messages and suggestions, people should first understand the political conditions, he remarked.
“Positions Were Never My Priority”
Pawan stated that if positions and power were his only goal, he could have contested as an MP much earlier. He revealed that during the Praja Rajyam Party days in 2007, he had opportunities to enter electoral politics. Similarly, when he launched Jana Sena Party in 2014, he was offered a chance to contest from Malkajgiri as an MP candidate.
He said his political journey has been built on ideology and long-term commitment, not on chasing power. According to him, a political party needs strong principles and a clear vision to survive.
“Building a Party Is Not Easy”
Pawan emphasized that forming a party and immediately gaining power is not an easy task. He said true political growth requires years of groundwork and sacrifice. Referring to Left leaders and social reformers like Kanshi Ram, he noted that many leaders endured immense struggles to build strong political movements.
He added that Jana Sena is moving forward with the same commitment toward ideology and collective growth rather than personal ambitions.
Strong Counter to Ongoing Comparisons
For the past several days, political discussions and debates had intensified over comparisons between Pawan Kalyan and Vijay after the latter’s political success in Tamil Nadu. Many Jana Sena supporters also expressed opinions that the party should have followed a different strategy.
However, Pawan’s latest speech appears to have given a direct and strong response to all such comparisons. He reiterated that the welfare of Andhra Pradesh matters more to him than positions of power and made it clear that Jana Sena will continue to move forward according to its own political vision and strategy.
