Telugu superstar Jr NTR is creating a buzz in Japan as he promotes his latest blockbuster, Devara: Part 1. Ahead of the film’s release in the country on March 28, 2025, a video of the actor dancing with a Japanese fan to the song Ayudha Pooja has taken social media by storm. The clip shows NTR effortlessly matching steps with the fan, impressing viewers with his infectious energy and down-to-earth charm.
The film, directed by Koratala Siva, will be released in both IMAX and regular formats across Japan. With NTR’s rising popularity in the country, expectations are high for a massive turnout. The actor’s previous visit to Japan during the release of SS Rajamouli’s RRR helped him build a strong fanbase there. The movie was a huge success, making him a familiar name in the region.
NTR Calls Devara His Most Ambitious Film
Speaking to The Hindu ahead of the Japan release, NTR described Devara as the most challenging and ambitious film of his career. “It’s very high on VFX, which is a different craft altogether. Rajamouli has mastered it, he knows when, where, why, and how to use it. It’s not everybody’s cup of tea,” he said, referring to his RRR director’s expertise in visual effects.
In Devara: Part 1, NTR plays dual roles, one of which portrays a middle-aged man, making it one of his most intense performances to date. The film’s action-packed narrative and visually stunning sequences have already captivated audiences in India, where it grossed over Rs 500 crore.
Star Cast and Crew
The film stars Saif Ali Khan as the antagonist and Janhvi Kapoor in her Telugu debut. The supporting cast includes Prakash Raj, Srikanth, Shine Tom Chacko, Murali Sharma, Narain, and Zarina Wahab. The movie’s music, composed by Anirudh Ravichander, has also been a major hit, but he was unable to join the Japan promotions due to his ongoing work on Rajinikanth’s Coolie.
NTR’s Upcoming Projects
After Devara: Part 1, NTR will be seen in Prashanth Neel’s next action film, which is expected to start filming after Ugadi weekend in March 2025. Meanwhile, Devara: Part 2 is already in the pipeline, with NTR reprising his dual roles.
With NTR’s massive popularity and the buzz around Devara, the film’s performance in Japan is eagerly awaited by fans and trade experts alike.
