Jr NTR’s blockbuster Devara, directed by Koratala Siva, is gearing up for a grand release in Japan. The film, which features Jr NTR in a dual role, will hit Japanese theaters on March 28, 2025. Ticket sales will begin on January 3, 2025, and distribution is handled by Twin, the same company behind Prabhas’ Kalki 2898 AD. This marks a significant milestone for Telugu cinema, following the massive success of Jr NTR’s RRR in Japan.

What Is Devara’s Story About?
Set in the coastal village of Ratnagiri, Devara follows the tale of Devara (Jr NTR) and Bhaira (Saif Ali Khan), once allies turned foes due to clashing ideals. Devara vanishes after a deadly betrayal, leaving behind unanswered questions. Twelve years later, his son Vara faces Bhaira. Will Devara’s legacy triumph? That remains to be seen.
Plans for Devara 2
Director Koratala Siva has already started scripting Devara 2. He is confident about improving the sequel and aims to bring it to sets in late 2026. However, financial disputes between Jr NTR and the producers need resolution before the sequel can progress.
Jr NTR’s Upcoming Projects
Currently, Jr NTR is focused on War 2, aiming to finish it by January 2025. In February, he plans to start working on Prashanth Neel’s film, titled Dragon, slated for a Sankranthi 2026 release. He is also committed to a project with Jailer director Nelson Dilipkumar, which will likely start in early 2026.
