Bollywood’s latest historical action drama Chhaava is making waves at the box office. As of 20 February 2025, it has earned Rs 288.42 crore (US$33 million), making it the highest-grossing Indian film of the year and the top-grossing Hindi film of 2025.
With its gripping storyline and grand visuals, Chhaava has struck a chord with audiences across India. However, Telugu movie lovers are now urging the makers to release a dubbed Telugu version soon.
Why Telugu Fans Want Chhaava
Telugu audiences have always welcomed films from other languages if the content is strong. Several Hindi and Tamil movies have found immense success in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana due to their engaging stories. Since Chhaava is a historical film about Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of Shivaji Maharaj, it holds special significance. Many Telugu people admire the legacy of Shivaji Maharaj, making this film a potential hit in the region.
Moreover, Rashmika Mandanna, the film’s lead actress, has a massive fan base in Telugu states. Her previous films like Pushpa and Geetha Govindam were blockbusters. Even Animal, her recent Hindi film, earned over Rs 40 crore in the Telugu market.
