Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Shankar Dada MBBS which was released in 2004 ended up as a sensational blockbuster. Such a cult classic hit is being brought back to the theatre. The film is going to be re-released on a grand scale on November 4th by Mega Productions. The trailer was released on Thursday. Mega brother Nagababu and hero Srikanth launched the trailer.
While speaking at the event, Nagababu said, “I am happy that this movie is getting re-released. It has been 19 years since this movie came out. A generation changes every 20 years. They don’t watch old movies on TV and YouTube. But such films used to have a high repeat value, with people watching them repeated times. But now movies are available for streaming on OTT and TV channels. Such films should be experienced in the theatre. It will take you back 20 years. Annayya Chiranjeevi was very handsome then. Pawan Kalyan visited the set casually and he was made to appear in a cameo. Vaishnav Tej played a child artist role. My friend Ahuti Prasad is no more. After watching the trailer, I remembered all this and felt sad and happy at the same time.”
Hero Srikanth said, “I will never forget 2004. I heard the news about the remake of Munnabhai Lageraho at a time when I was busy as a hero. I asked Annayya, how it would be if I played the character next to the hero. He smiled and left. Finally, I got that role. I am lucky to have the opportunity to act with my Annayya. He is very hardworking. I’m still being referred to as ATM. This movie is now being re-released. I wish this movie to become a big hit.”
