Thalapathy Vijay Breaks Silence on Jana Nayagan Delay and Censor Issues

By TeluguFunda / January 31, 2026

Censor troubles continue to plague Thalapathy Vijay’s much-anticipated film Jana Nayagan, with the project still lacking a tentative release date. The controversy recently escalated after the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) filed a caveat petition in the Supreme Court, urging the apex court not to pass any interim orders without hearing its arguments, should the producers decide to appeal.

Nearly a month has passed since the issue surfaced, and Vijay had maintained silence, leaving fans anxious about the film’s fate. However, the actor has now finally addressed the situation. In a recent interview with NDTV, Vijay spoke candidly about the delay and its impact on the film.

“I feel bad for my producer, as Jana Nayagan is facing difficulties because of my political entry. I was mentally prepared for this and knew that my film would be affected due to my decision to enter politics,” Vijay said.

Mounted on a grand scale with a reported budget of ₹500 crore, Jana Nayagan is produced by KVN Productions. Despite the ongoing hurdles, expectations remain high, and it is yet to be seen when the issues will be resolved.

The political action drama stars Pooja Hegde as the female lead, with Mamitha Baiju and Bobby Deol playing key roles. Fans continue to wait for clarity on the film’s release amid the uncertainty surrounding its certification.
