Massive Sets Built for SSMB29
To bring Rajamouli’s vision to life, grand Green Mat and Blue Mat sets have been created at the Aluminium Factory in Hyderabad. The film’s production will continue for nearly a year, with periodic breaks. While a major portion will be filmed in Hyderabad, a significant part of the movie will also be shot in Kenya.

According to reports, Rajamouli is meticulously recreating the iconic Manikarnika Ghat of Varanasi for SSMB29. The director is leaving no stone unturned in terms of VFX and set design, ensuring that the film meets and exceeds the visual standards of his previous blockbusters.
Cast & Latest Updates
While official announcements are awaited, reports suggest that Priyanka Chopra has joined the cast as the female lead, reportedly charging ₹30 crore for her role. She has already started filming in Hyderabad. There are also rumors that John Abraham might be part of the project, but no confirmation has been made yet.
International Shooting Schedule in Kenya
The team is also preparing for an extended shooting schedule in Kenya, where key sequences will be filmed. Several other scenes are planned in various locations across Africa.

Mahesh Babu was last seen in Guntur Kaaram (released on January 12, 2024). John Abraham last appeared in Vedaa (released on August 15, 2024). He also played the antagonist in Pathaan (2023). Priyanka Chopra is making her comeback in Indian cinema with SSMB29. Her last Indian film was The Sky Is Pink (2019).
