‘Saaree’ is the title of an upcoming psychological thriller movie for which Giri Krishna Kamal has wielded the megaphone. It is produced by Ram Gopal Varma and is touted to be a tale of “passion, love, and heart-wrenching conflict”.
Admittedly based on true incidents, the film is about a young man’s “insane obsession” with a saree-clad girl. His obsession takes perverse forms. He stalks her, terrifies her, and probably, violates her physically.
Starring Satya Yadu and Aaradhya Devi as the lead pair, the film will arrive at the cinemas in the month of November in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam.
The film’s Teaser comes with gross visuals meant to shock the viewer. One hopes the film is anything but tasteless.
Varma, for now, is proud of spotting the female lead of the film. “Aaradhya Devi is from Kerala. She was spotted through an organized selection process followed by RGV Den,” the makers said.
Ram Gopal Varma is well over the political cinema phase. He recently stated that he won’t be making political movies anymore.
