Vishnu Wanted Rajinikanth in Kannappa but Dropped the Idea

In a recent interview, Manchu Vishnu revealed that his team initially approached Rajinikanth to play an important role in the film. They imagined a character that would appear alongside Mohan Babu’s role. However, after extensive discussions, the writing team pointed out that the character lacked emotional weight and didn’t match the core storyline.

So, the team decided not to pursue it. Vishnu clarified, “We respect Rajinikanth garu deeply, but we refused to add a role just for the sake of his star power.”

Prabhas Chose to Play Rudra, Not Shiva

Vishnu also shared interesting details about Prabhas’s casting. He said they offered Prabhas two characters to choose from. Prabhas personally selected Rudra, which Vishnu described as a powerful and significant role. Vishnu confirmed that they never planned to cast Prabhas as Lord Shiva.

Adding to the goodwill, Prabhas didn’t take any payment for this role. His decision has created a positive buzz and earned praise from fans. Vishnu assured viewers that Rudra’s role would reveal its true impact only after the film’s release.

Vishnu also recalled a humorous moment. When the team submitted a lyrical video to the Censor Board, officials asked, “What’s the proof that Kannappa has a love story?” Vishnu quickly responded by reminding them that Kannappa had a wife named Neela, which adds emotional depth to the film.
