Playback Singer Kalpana Raghavendar Hospitalized After Suspected Suicide Attempt

Popular playback singer Kalpana Raghavendar has been hospitalized after an alleged suicide attempt at her residence in Nizampet, Hyderabad on March 2, 2025. According to reports, she was found unconscious inside her locked home after not responding for two days. Security staff at her apartment complex grew suspicious and alerted the residents’ association, which then contacted her husband and the police.

Rescue and Hospitalization

Kalpana’s husband, who was in Chennai at the time, could not reach her. With no response from Kalpana, the police broke open the door and found her in an unconscious state. She was immediately rushed to a private hospital, where she is currently on ventilator support.

The exact reason behind her suspected suicide attempt is still unknown. The police have registered a case and started an investigation. Meanwhile, several prominent figures from the music industry, including singer Sunitha, have visited the hospital to check on her condition.

Who Is Kalpana Raghavendar?

Kalpana Raghavendar is a well-known playback singer and daughter of veteran singer TS Raghavendra. She started her musical career at the young age of five and has worked with legendary composers like Ilaiyaraaja, AR Rahman, MS Viswanathan, KV Mahadevan, SP Balasubrahmanyam, and KS Chithra.

She gained nationwide recognition after winning Star Singer Malayalam in 2010 and has since recorded over 1,500 songs in multiple languages. She has also appeared as a judge on various music reality shows and was a contestant in Bigg Boss Telugu Season 1, hosted by Jr NTR.
