Pawan Kalyan Lashes Out at Tollywood Silence: Allu Aravind Steps In

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has openly expressed his anger toward the Telugu film industry. He strongly believes that industry leaders are ignoring the newly formed state government under Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. Kalyan feels shocked that no major film personalities have visited the CM since the new government took office. He considers this a clear sign of disrespect and a failure to follow proper political protocol.

What made him even angrier was the theatre shutdown announcement starting June 1—right before the release of his long-awaited film Hari Hara Veera Mallu. He believes that this decision directly targets his film and damages both his political and professional image.

Veteran producer Allu Aravind, who is also a close relative of Pawan Kalyan, responded to the situation. He strongly denied any connection with the group that planned the theatre bandh.

“I control just 15 out of 1,500 theatres in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Even these will soon move out of my hands. Right now, I only own AAA Cinemas,” Aravind clarified.

He said he chose not to attend the recent Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce meeting. “They discussed a possible theatre shutdown, and I didn’t want to support that negative move. So, I stayed away from the meeting,” he explained.

Allu Aravind Says Pawan Kalyan Had Every Reason to React

Aravind agreed that Kalyan had every reason to feel disappointed. He recalled a recent meeting where he and producer Aswini Dutt met Pawan to discuss ticket pricing for Kalki 2898 AD. During the conversation, Kalyan asked if they had met Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.

“That question wasn’t casual. Pawan clearly wanted to remind us about the importance of maintaining protocol and professional respect,” Aravind said. He criticized the Film Chamber for ignoring such an important message.

Film Industry Must Communicate With Government Consistently

Aravind stressed the importance of regular interaction between the film industry and the government. “We can’t show up only when problems arise. We must keep communication open at all times,” he insisted.

He reminded everyone that two years ago, the industry leaders approached former CM Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for support. He suggested that they should follow the same respectful approach with the current government as well.

Aravind Advises Unity, Not Division

Aravind showed sympathy for single-screen theatre owners, saying they face real struggles. But he advised a better approach. “Instead of threatening a shutdown, they should have presented a detailed plan to save their business. That would have shown maturity and leadership,” he pointed out.

He warned that if the industry continues to divide into camps and mix politics with cinema, it will face serious consequences. Aravind sent a clear message: the Telugu film industry must stay united, respect the government, and act wisely during sensitive times.
