“Watching Janhvi Kapoor trying to emote and play a serious diplomat in ‘Ulajh’ (Hindi) is as painful as trying to start a 1980s Bajaj Chetak Scooter with a choked Carburettor. She is like an Ola Electric Scooter. Doesn’t work most of the time but somehow, it is popular and keeps getting chances,” wrote a Netizen in a scathing review of the acting skills of Sridevi’s daughter.
In their reviews of ‘Devara’, most YouTubers, especially from the North, have critiqued her role and acting skills quite mercilessly. “‘Devara’ proves that Janhvi is capable of ruining not only Hindi films but also pan-Indian ones,” a YouTuber quipped in an unforgiving take.
If she continues to make poor choices, Janhvi will come to be seen as an ineffective performer by a large segment of audiences. Already, she has been described as a Nepo kid who bags offers only because her father is a producer.
To be fair to Janhvi, she has a lot of potential. Ram Charan’s 16th film should really be a game-changer for her. The untitled film, to be released in 2026, is directed by Buchi Babu Sana.
