Telugu star Nithiin’s action-drama ‘Thammudu’ has finally locked its theatrical release date. After multiple delays, the film is now set to hit cinemas on May 9, 2025. According to reports, the delay was due to pending post-production work, but with the latest confirmation, fans can expect an exciting summer release.
Why Was ‘Thammudu’ Delayed?
Initially, ‘Thammudu’ was supposed to release on Maha Shivaratri, but the makers had to postpone it due to unfinished editing work. Now that the final cut is ready, the film is gearing up for a grand theatrical debut. The production team is confident that this movie will mark a strong comeback for Nithiin, whose recent films did not perform well at the box office.
What Is ‘Thammudu’ About?
Directed by Venu Sriram, the film follows an emotional story of a brother who will do anything to protect his sister from danger. The title seems to pay tribute to Pawan Kalyan’s 1999 classic ‘Thammudu’, though the storyline is entirely different.

‘Thammudu’ features a solid ensemble cast, including Nithiin, Kishore Raju Vasishta, Sapthami Gowda, Balagam Sanjay, and Varsha Bollamma in key roles. The film is produced by Dil Raju and Shirish under the Sri Venkateswara Creations banner. Ajaneesh B. Loknath, known for his work in ‘Kantara,’ has composed the music. Before taking on ‘Thammudu,’ Venu Sriram was set to direct ‘Icon’ with Allu Arjun, but the project was shelved. Soon after, he joined hands with Nithiin for this gripping action drama. Given Sriram’s success with ‘Vakeel Saab,’ expectations are high for his latest venture.

Apart from ‘Thammudu,’ Nithiin is also awaiting the release of ‘Robinhood,’ directed by Venky Kudumula and co-starring Sreeleela. Though the release date is yet to be confirmed, the film is expected to arrive in March 2025.
