Big Relief for Actor Dileep: Sensational Verdict in the Actress Kidnap Case

By TeluguFunda / December 8, 2025

The final verdict has been delivered in the 2017 assault and abduction case that shook the Malayalam film industry. Malayalam star actor Dileep has received a major relief as the court has acquitted him of all charges.

After nearly eight years of investigation and trial, the Ernakulam Principal Sessions Court pronounced its sensational judgment. Dileep, who had been listed as the eighth accused for allegedly conspiring in the crime, has now been declared not guilty. The case witnessed several twists and dramatic developments from the very beginning. In 2017, the abduction and sexual assault of a popular actress inside a moving car became a nationwide topic of discussion. Dileep was accused of masterminding the conspiracy behind the crime, leading to years of court battles.

However, the major twist in the verdict is that while Dileep has been acquitted, the main perpetrators of the crime have been found guilty. The court convicted the prime accused Pulsar Suni along with five others—Martin Antony, Manikandan, Vijesh, and Saleem. They have been found guilty under serious charges including kidnapping, gang rape, and criminal conspiracy. The sentencing for these six convicts will be announced on December 12, which has now become the focus of public attention.

Since the conspiracy charges against Dileep could not be proven, all cases against him have been dismissed. The investigation into this case was extensive and complex. The court examined as many as 261 witnesses, including several well-known figures from the film industry.

Surprisingly, 28 witnesses turned hostile during the trial. The prosecution submitted more than 800 documents as evidence. After 438 days of witness examination and arguments from both sides, the verdict was finally delivered today. Dileep’s acquittal has sparked celebrations among his fans.

Meanwhile, discussions continue on whether the victim has truly received justice. Greater clarity is expected once the court announces the punishment for the convicted individuals on December 12.
