Vishwambhara Release Update: Chiranjeevi Confirms Summer 2026 with Teaser Out Today

Megastar Chiranjeevi gave fans a much-awaited update on his upcoming socio-fantasy film Vishwambhara. The actor officially announced that the movie will release worldwide in summer 2026, citing the extensive visual effects work needed to bring the story to life.

In a special video released ahead of his birthday on August 22, Chiranjeevi addressed fans’ concerns about the delay. He assured them that the team is making the film with passion and without compromising on quality. The makers will also unveil a special teaser today at 6:06 PM, giving fans their first major glimpse of the project.

Why Vishwambhara Faces Delay

Chiranjeevi explained that the second half of Vishwambhara depends heavily on advanced VFX and graphics. He stressed that the team deliberately delayed the release to deliver the highest standard of visual storytelling. International artists have joined the post-production team to create a world-class output.

Earlier, fans criticized an early teaser for weak visual effects. In response, the team redid large portions of the work to meet expectations. Chiranjeevi emphasized that the film will entertain both children and adults, offering a magical story that evokes memories of Chandamama kathalu (folk tales).

Cast, Crew, and Production Highlights

Mallidi Vassishta, known for his hit debut Bimbisara, wrote and directed Vishwambhara. UV Creations produces the film on a massive scale, while M.M. Keeravani, acclaimed for RRR, composed the music.

Trisha Krishnan stars as the female lead, marking her third collaboration with Chiranjeevi in Telugu cinema. Kunal Kapoor and Ashika Ranganath play key roles, and Mouni Roy recently shot a special dance number with Chiranjeevi.

The team officially launched Vishwambhara, earlier called Mega 156, on October 23, 2023, with a grand muhurat pooja in Hyderabad. Some fans speculated that the movie might serve as a sequel to the 1990 cult classic Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari. However, the makers confirmed that the story remains entirely new and unrelated.

What Fans Can Expect

Vishwambhara mixes fantasy, action, and emotional drama, positioning it as one of the biggest Telugu releases of 2026. Chiranjeevi promised fans a visual spectacle “beyond the universe,” crafted with care and passion.

After a long wait, fans will finally get a glimpse of the magic when the makers release the MEGA teaser today at 6:06 PM.
