Megastar Chiranjeevi met Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Sunday evening at the CM’s official residence in Jubilee Hills. Although officials described the meeting as a courtesy call, its timing, right when a major workers’ strike grips the Telugu film industry, has sparked intense speculation.

Chiranjeevi’s Meeting with CM Revanth Reddy Raises Eyebrows

The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) posted a video of the meeting on social media platform ‘X’ to highlight the event. The CM greeted Chiranjeevi with a bouquet and honored him with a shawl, reflecting a warm and respectful interaction. While neither Chiranjeevi nor the CM disclosed the meeting’s exact agenda, insiders suggest they likely discussed personal or informal matters.

Despite the official narrative, industry insiders strongly believe the meeting carried deeper intentions. The Telugu Film Industry Employees Federation, which represents 24 crafts, called for a complete halt to all shootings after negotiations failed over their demand for a 30% wage hike. Since the Film Chamber refused to accept the unions’ terms during Sunday’s talks, the Federation decided to allow only those film projects that provide written confirmation of the wage hike to continue production.

Chiranjeevi May Be Playing a Mediator’s Role in TFI Strike

Given the seriousness of the Tollywood strike, Chiranjeevi’s sudden visit has led many to believe he might intervene as a mediator or seek the government’s help to resolve the dispute. Still, sources close to Chiranjeevi firmly deny any connection between his visit and the ongoing strike, asserting that he met the CM only for personal reasons.

Chiranjeevi’s Films and 70th Birthday Buzz

Chiranjeevi currently focuses on multiple film projects. His upcoming mythological fantasy movie “Vishwambhara”, directed by Vassishta, has nearly wrapped up filming, and the VFX team continues its work. The makers plan to release it by the end of this year.

At the same time, Chiranjeevi also works on “Mega 157”, a commercial entertainer directed by Anil Ravipudi, with Nayanthara playing the female lead. The team plans to release it during Sankranti 2026.

As Chiranjeevi prepares to celebrate his 70th birthday on August 22, some speculate that he may have visited the CM to discuss a possible state-supported event or a major announcement related to the milestone.
