Ajay Devgn Plans to Set Up International Film City in Telangana After Meeting CM Revanth Reddy

Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn has proposed a bold plan to establish an International Film City in Telangana, aiming to make the state a leading destination for cinema infrastructure in India. On Monday, he met Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy at his official residence in Delhi and presented his detailed vision for building a cutting-edge film studio. His plan includes advanced VFX, animation, and AI-powered production facilities.

Ajay Devgn also recommended launching a dedicated Film Institute and a skill development centre to train young talent for the evolving film and media industry. He highlighted Telangana’s growing influence in Indian cinema and pointed out that with strong government support, the state could attract filmmakers from across the world.

Telangana’s Film Sector Gains Global Momentum

During the meeting, Devgn directly requested government support to execute his vision. He assured the Chief Minister that he would fully commit to building world-class cinema infrastructure. He also shared his interest in bringing global expertise and advanced technology to improve filmmaking standards in India. According to his plan, the film studio and training institute will generate thousands of jobs and elevate Telangana’s presence in the entertainment sector.

CM Revanth Reddy responded by explaining the key steps his government has taken to promote the media and entertainment industry. He promised full cooperation and expressed appreciation for Devgn’s initiative. In return, Devgn praised the government’s proactive development measures and agreed to serve as a brand ambassador for “Rising Telangana,” promoting the state through cinema and digital platforms.

Key Officials Support the Project

Senior officials including Ajit Reddy, Special Secretary to the CM, and Gaurav Uppal, Secretary for Central Schemes Coordination, also attended the meeting. Their involvement underlines the government’s strong commitment to supporting this ambitious project.

Kapil Dev Discusses Sports Growth in Telangana

On the same day, former Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev visited CM Revanth Reddy and discussed the proposed Young India Sports University in Telangana. He offered to partner with the government in developing sports education and infrastructure. The Chief Minister also shared insights from his recent visits to sports institutions in South Korea and other countries.

In a separate meeting with Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, CM Revanth Reddy requested the Centre to host the Khelo India Games 2026 in Telangana. He also asked the Union Government to consider Telangana as a venue for Olympic-related events if India wins the bid to host the 2036 Olympics.

These meetings reflect Telangana’s growing appeal in both entertainment and sports, with national icons like Ajay Devgn and Kapil Dev expressing strong interest in contributing to the state’s development.
