The Drushyam franchise, known for its gripping story and emotional depth, continues to stir excitement across India. The teams behind the Malayalam and Hindi versions of Drishyam 3 have confirmed that they will begin filming on October 2. Meanwhile, Telugu fans still await an official update. The delay in announcing the Telugu version has pushed fans to urge the makers to start production without further wait.
Malayalam and Hindi Teams Set to Shoot on Gandhi Jayanthi
The makers of Drishyam 3 have selected October 2, 2025, Gandhi Jayanthi, as the start date for both the Malayalam and Hindi versions. They chose this date because the Drishyam story often revolves around moral decisions and inner struggles, making Gandhi Jayanthi a symbolically powerful starting point.
Mohanlal returns as the iconic Georgekutty in Malayalam, while Ajay Devgn steps back into the shoes of Vijay Salgaonkar for the Hindi version. Director Jeethu Joseph confirmed that both versions will follow the same storyline. The Hindi team will make only minor cultural adaptations to suit their audience.
Telugu Fans Push for Venkatesh’s Return as Rambabu
In the Telugu version, Venkatesh played the much-loved role of Rambabu in Drushyam and Drushyam 2. Audiences praised both films for their realism and loyal adaptation of the original. Despite the growing anticipation, the makers haven’t announced a start date for the Telugu version of Drushyam 3.
As the Malayalam and Hindi versions gear up for filming, Telugu fans continue to press Venkatesh and the producers for a solid update. Some reports even suggest that the makers want to release all three versions simultaneously to avoid spoilers and keep the suspense intact, especially in today’s OTT-driven era.
Jeethu Joseph Reaffirms Unified Storyline for All Versions
Jeethu Joseph cleared the air around the script by confirming that all three versions will follow the same story. He denied the rumors about the Hindi version having a different plot. Once he finishes the Malayalam script, he plans to share it with the Hindi and Telugu teams, who will then tweak it to fit their respective settings.
Although the team wants to shoot all versions at once, Jeethu noted that managing the lead actors’ schedules could make that difficult. Still, he remains hopeful about achieving a simultaneous release in Malayalam, Hindi, and Telugu.
Ajay Devgn Gets a Head Start
Interestingly, Ajay Devgn seems ready to begin shooting even before the Malayalam version goes on floors. Following the massive success of Drishyam 2, Shaitaan, and Raid 2, he appears eager to move forward with Drishyam 3.
Meanwhile, Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph continue to work on finalizing the script and plan to begin the Malayalam shoot later this year.
