Dhanush’s Idli Kadai Gets a New Release Date, Here’s Why

Tamil star Dhanush, who is directing and acting in his upcoming film Idli Kadai, has officially postponed its release. The film was initially set for April 10, but Dhanush announced on April 4 that it will now hit theatres on October 1, 2025. He shared a vibrant new poster featuring himself in a traditional shirt and dhoti, joyfully dancing in a festive setting.

Why Did the Release Date Change?

The original release date would have put Idli Kadai in direct competition with Ajith Kumar’s Good Bad Ugly, marking the first box-office clash between these two superstars in two decades. To avoid this, the makers decided to postpone the release. Now, Idli Kadai will arrive during the Dussehra festival, potentially competing with Rishab Shetty’s Kantara: Chapter 1.

Dhanush is directing Idli Kadai as his fourth film after Pa Paandi, Raayan, and Nilavukku En Mel Ennadi Kobam. The film unfolds in a rural backdrop and delivers an emotionally rich drama.
