The iconic Telugu sci-fi film Aditya 369 is set to make a grand comeback with a 4K re-release on April 11, 2025. Starring Nandamuri Balakrishna in a dual role, the film is directed by the visionary Singeetam Srinivasa Rao and produced by Sivalenka Krishna Prasad under Sridevi Movies. Originally released in 1991, the movie was a trailblazer in Indian science fiction and is still regarded as a landmark film in Telugu cinema.
Enhanced Visuals and Sound for the Big Screen
For its re-release, Aditya 369 has been digitally remastered in 4K resolution with upgraded 5.1 surround sound, promising a visual and auditory treat for audiences. According to producer Krishna Prasad, a dedicated digital team at Prasad Laboratories worked for six months to restore the film to its finest quality. The enhanced version aims to introduce the film’s magic to a new generation while offering longtime fans a chance to relive the nostalgia.
Timeless Performances and Legendary Crew
The film’s unique storyline revolves around time travel, making it the first-ever sci-fi movie in Telugu cinema. Balakrishna’s performance in the dual roles of Sri Krishnadevaraya and Krishna Kumar was widely praised, with the actor exuding royal charm and commanding screen presence. The film also stars Amrish Puri, Tinnu Anand, and Mohini, with memorable music composed by Ilaiyaraaja. The legendary Jandhyala penned the dialogues, while the cinematography was handled by industry greats PC Sreeram, VSR Swamy, and Kabir Lal.

Krishna Prasad expressed his gratitude to SP Balasubrahmanyam, who presented the film and played a key role in its production. He also thanked Balakrishna and Singeetam Srinivasa Rao for their support and dedication. Reflecting on the film’s original production, Prasad recalled being a newcomer back then and expressed appreciation for Balakrishna’s trust in him.
Upcoming Project from Sridevi Movies
Alongside the re-release, Sridevi Movies is also gearing up for the release of their new film, Sarangapani Jathakam, directed by Mohanakrishna Indraganti. The movie, starring Priyadarshi Pulikonda and Roopa Koduvayur, is set to hit theaters on April 18, 2025.
