The highly anticipated War 2 is nearing completion, with its release now confirmed for August 25, 2025. Initially rumored for an August 14 release, the date has now been updated. Dialogue writer Abbas Tyrewala shared this information in a recent interview, adding to the excitement of fans eagerly waiting for any news about the film.
A New Chapter in the YRF Spy Universe
The sequel to the 2019 blockbuster War, starring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff, is set to introduce Jr. NTR to Bollywood’s mainstream audience. The film will see Hrithik reprising his role as Major Kabir Dhaliwal, while Kiara Advani plays a significant role. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, War 2 continues the YRF Spy Universe after Tiger 3, which featured Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, and Emraan Hashmi.
Abbas Tyrewala Confirms Shooting Update
In an interview with Lallantop, Abbas Tyrewala confirmed that filming is almost complete. He stated, “The shoot of War 2 will be wrapped soon. I believe it will be released on August 25. Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR will be seen in the film. I have penned the dialogues.”
He also hinted that the release date could be adjusted depending on the final output. Additionally, he mentioned working on another project titled King, directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Shah Rukh Khan, starring SRK and his daughter Suhana Khan.
War 2’s Expectations and Spy Universe Plans
War 2 carries high expectations, especially after the mixed response to Tiger 3. Pathaan, which marked Shah Rukh Khan’s comeback, was the biggest hit in the franchise, and the makers want War 2 to match or surpass its success. The film is crucial for the Spy Universe’s future, with a grand crossover film featuring all the superstars expected later.
