Allu Arjun, one of the biggest stars in Telugu cinema, was arrested in connection with the tragic stampede at Sandhya Theater on December 4, which resulted in the death of a 35-year-old woman named Revathi. The incident occurred when Arjun visited the theater to watch the premiere of Pushpa 2. A large crowd gathered to catch a glimpse of the actor, and the stampede was triggered by the chaos surrounding his appearance.
Following the arrest, there was a wave of support for Allu Arjun from various figures in the film industry. Several actors, directors, and producers came forward to express their solidarity with him. Singers like Kalpana even organized press conferences to show their backing. However, not everyone shared the same sentiment.
Tammareddy Bharadwaj’s Criticism
Tammareddy Bharadwaj, a prominent producer in Telugu cinema, took a firm stance against Allu Arjun. In an interview, he stated that while Arjun had earned accolades like a National Award, that did not place him above the law. Tammareddy emphasized that celebrities, regardless of their fame, must bear moral responsibility for their actions. He pointed out that the stampede was a direct result of the large crowd gathered because of the rally held by Arjun at the theater.
Tammareddy argued that the police were justified in arresting Arjun, and they should not be blamed for carrying out their duties. He also suggested that Arjun’s PR team should be held accountable for the situation, as their actions likely fueled the frenzy. He drew a comparison to an earlier incident with actor Chiranjeevi, where a stampede occurred during a movie screening, but since Chiranjeevi wasn’t present at the scene, he wasn’t held responsible. In contrast, Allu Arjun was at the theater, which led to his arrest.

Public Reactions and Mixed Opinions
The arrest sparked a divided response, particularly on social media. Some people praised the action, noting that this was the first time a celebrity was arrested in such a manner. CM Revanth Reddy also weighed in, emphasizing that the law should treat everyone equally, regardless of their status. However, others criticized the arrest, accusing Reddy of using the situation for political gain.
Although Allu Arjun was granted bail by the High Court and released, the debate about his involvement in the stampede and the underlying causes continues to generate discussion.
