'Will Cooperate': Allu Arjun's First Words After Jail Release

Telugu superstar Allu Arjun has made his first public statement following his arrest in connection with the tragic death of a fan at the premiere of his film Pushpa 2: The Rule. Speaking to reporters outside the jail, he said, “I am a law-abiding citizen and will fully cooperate with the authorities. My condolences to the family of the deceased. It was an unfortunate incident.”

Arrest and Bail Details

Allu Arjun was arrested on Friday afternoon from his residence in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad. The arrest followed the death of a 35-year-old woman, Revathi, during a chaotic situation at the Pushpa 2 premiere at Sandhya Theatre on December 4. The stampede occurred when Allu Arjun and co-star Rashmika Mandanna arrived at the venue to interact with fans. Revathi lost her life in the incident, while her son remains hospitalized in critical condition.

The deceased’s husband filed an FIR, naming Allu Arjun as an accused. A lower court sent the actor to 14 days of judicial custody, but the Telangana High Court granted him interim bail for four weeks. Despite this, the actor had to spend the night in jail because the authorities claimed they did not receive the bail order on time. Allu Arjun’s legal team has criticized this as “illegal detention” and plans to take further legal action.

Political Reactions and Criticism

The high-profile arrest sparked a political debate. Opposition parties, including the BJP and BRS, criticized the Congress-led government in Telangana, accusing it of mishandling the situation. However, Telangana Congress President Mahesh Kumar Goud defended the arrest, stating, “The law is equal for everyone, and justice will prevail.”

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s Stand

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy also addressed the issue. He assured the public that the investigation would remain impartial. “Law will take its own course, and no one will interfere with the investigation,” he said in an official statement.

During the Aaj Tak Agenda program, Reddy explained the cause of the stampede. He stated that Allu Arjun climbed out of his car’s sunroof to greet fans, leading to the uncontrollable situation at the theatre.

This incident has highlighted safety concerns at high-profile public events. Fans and industry professionals alike are now calling for stricter measures to prevent such tragedies in the future.
