In 2015, actor Dhanush produced a movie titled ‘Naanum Rowdy Dhaan’ (Tamil). It starred Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara in lead roles. The heroine’s future husband, Vignesh Shivan, directed it.
In the recently-released promo of Nayanthara’s upcoming Netflix documentary, a 3-second clip from the sets of the movie are seen. Actor-producer Dhanush has slapped a legal notice on Netflix for using the footage without his authorization. He has demanded Rs 10 crores as damages.
In an open letter on Saturday, Nayanthara blasted Dhanush. She described Dhanush’s behaviour as “vengeful”. She revealed that Dhanush didn’t let any musical footage from the film be used for the documentary despite repeated requests for a No-Objection Certificate. The Netflix documentary desisted from using copyrighted property from the film. However, Dhanush now even wants footage from the sets of the movie to not be used in the documentary. This is why Nayanthara is extremely upset with him.

Nayanthara wrote that Dhanush’s “ego was supremely hurt” after the film became a blockbuster. She added in the letter that Dhanush uttered “horrible things” about the film with others.
