The highly-anticipated sequel to the 2019 blockbuster ‘Lucifer’ (Malayalam), titled ‘Empuraan’, is set to release worldwide on March 27, 2025. The film, directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran and written by Murali Gopy, is the second installment in a planned trilogy.
Other releases: On March 28, 2025, Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Hari Hara Veera Mallu’ and Vijay Deverakonda’s 12th movie are scheduled for release. One of these could be postponed.
A Wow Cast
Mohanlal will reprise his iconic role as Khureshi-Ab’raam / Stephen Nedumpally, alongside an ensemble cast that includes ‘Salaar’ actor Prithviraj Sukumaran, ‘Vettaiyan’ actor Manju Warrier, ‘ARM’ actor Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumaran, Saniya Iyappan, Arjun Das, Saikumar, Baiju Santhosh, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Fazil and Sachin Khedekar.
A Grand Production
‘Empuraan’ is a joint production of Lyca Productions and Aashirvad Cinemas. The film’s music is composed by Deepak Dev. Principal photography for the film commenced in October 2023 and took place at various locations across India, the United Kingdom, the United States, and other international destinations.
Lyca Productions has recently produced ‘Indian 2’ and ‘Vettaiyan’. The latter, starring Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan, will be available on Amazon Prime Video from November 8th.
