Varun Tej’s period mass action entertainer, ‘Matka’, is in the final stages of production. Directed by Karuna Kumar and produced under Vyra Entertainments and SRT Entertainment banners, the film now has a release date.
November 14th Release Date Confirmed
The movie’s release will coincide with Karthika Purnima, offering a long weekend advantage. It will be a direct clash with ‘Kanguva’, starring Suriya in the lead.
‘Fidaa’ Actor Shines in New Poster
The ‘Operation Valentine’ actor is seen in a retro avatar, dressed in a suit and holding a cigarette. The film’s period spans 24 years, from 1958 to 1982. “Varun Tej will be seen in four distinct avatars,” the makers said.
A Strong Cast and Technical Crew
Meenakshi Chaudhry and Nora Fatehi are the female leads, with GV Prakash Kumar composing the music and A Kishore Kumar handling the cinematography. Karthika Srinivas R is the editor.
Naveen Chandra, Ajay Ghosh, Kannada Kishore, Ravindra Vijay, P Ravi Shankar, and more will also be seen.
The box office arrival of ‘Matka’ and ‘Kanguva’ on the same day is fraught with risks for the former, though.
