The Trailer of ‘SWAG’, starring Sree Vishnu and Ritu Varma in the lead, is both hilarious and eccentric. At the same time, writer-director Hasith Goli seems to have packed content as well.
The story apparently takes place in two or three different timelines, involving descendants and gender games. Let’s unpack the Trailer:
- Male Dominance and Patriarchy: The core theme revolves around the societal expectation of male heirs, particularly in a royal lineage.
- Breaking Stereotypes: Yayathi’s simple life and the absence of male heirs suggests a potential subversion of traditional expectations.
- Legacy and Succession: The storyline introduces the concept of a legacy and the importance of ensuring its continuity. Involving a treasure, the film also presents a conflict with the Vijnamara Queen, played by Ritu Varma.

- A critique of patriarchal society: The storyline could be seen as a critique of the nature of patriarchy.

‘SWAG’ also features Meera Jasmine, Daksha Nagarkar, Saranya Pradeep, Sunil, Ravi Babu, Getup Srinu, Goparaju Ramana and Pruthviraj.
Vedaraman Sankaran is the cinematographer, Vivek Sagar composed the music, and Viplav Nyshadam edited the film.
