The YSRCP (Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party) manifesto for the upcoming elections has been unveiled, promising significant reforms and schemes aimed at improving the lives of the people of Andhra Pradesh. YS Jagan, the party leader and Chief Minister, presented the manifesto, reiterating the commitment to fulfill 99% of the promises made in 2019.
One of the key highlights of the manifesto is the introduction of two new schemes under the umbrella of ‘Amma Vodi’. These schemes aim to provide financial assistance and support to various sections of society, particularly the marginalized and underprivileged.
Outlined in just two pages, the 2024 manifesto emphasizes the continuation of ongoing projects while also detailing new initiatives. Among the notable announcements are the following:
1. Pension Enhancement: The pension amount will be increased from Rs. 15 to Rs. 17. Additionally, the total pension amount provided over three months will be raised to Rs. 3500. Further increments of Rs. 250 each are planned for the years 2028 and 2029.
2. Farmer Guarantee: Farmers will receive Rs. 16 as part of the farmer guarantee scheme, with the number of installments increasing from 13 to 16, each valued at Rs. 500.
3.Welfare Programs: Various welfare programs such as Zero Interest, Kapunestham, and EBC Nestham will be implemented to uplift the economically weaker sections of society.
4.Panchayat Formation: Separate panchayats will be formed in villages where there is a minimum of 50% SC (Scheduled Caste) voters and 500 houses.
5. Education, Health, and Agriculture: Current programs in these sectors will be implemented effectively to ensure comprehensive development.
6. Skill Development: Skill hubs will be established across 175 categories to empower youth with relevant skills and enhance employability.
7. Infrastructure Development: The manifesto promises the completion of the Polavaram project within five years, along with the expedited construction of harbors and airports.
8. Financial Assistance: Financial aid will be provided to the children of government employees for pursuing education abroad. Additionally, assistance for medical treatment and house construction will be extended to government employees.
9. Jagananna Chedodu Scheme: This scheme will be implemented to support kulavritti (traditional occupations).
10. Electricity Subsidy: Free electricity will be provided to SC and ST colonies.
11. Healthcare Facilities: Statewide heart and cancer care centers will be established to provide quality healthcare services to all citizens.
The manifesto reflects the YSRCP’s commitment to inclusive growth and development, with a focus on addressing the needs of every section of society. With these proposed schemes and initiatives, the party aims to create a more equitable and prosperous Andhra Pradesh for all its residents.
