Toxic Day 1 Collection: Yash’s Box Office Power on Full Display

Rocking Star Yash has once again proved his box-office strength with Toxic. The highly anticipated gangster drama opened to massive numbers worldwide, with the film reportedly collecting around Rs 120 crore gross in India on Day 1.

The film performed particularly well in the Telugu states, where it registered an estimated Rs 18 crore gross. Despite being a dubbed Kannada film, Toxic managed to attract strong numbers, especially in Hyderabad. Yash’s popularity in the city has grown significantly following the success of the KGF franchise, and that fan base appears to have played a key role in the film’s impressive opening.

Overseas markets also contributed strongly, with Toxic reportedly collecting around Rs 18 crore. This takes the film’s estimated worldwide Day 1 gross to approximately Rs 138 crore, marking a huge opening for Yash.

Interestingly, the film’s opening numbers have remained strong despite largely negative reviews from critics. The screenplay and writing have been criticized, with some viewers finding the narrative confusing. However, the mixed response has not had a major impact on the film’s opening-day performance.

A star’s box-office power is often reflected in the numbers generated on the first day, before word of mouth begins influencing the theatrical run. Going by that metric, Yash has once again demonstrated his massive market value and ability to pull audiences across languages.

Directed by Geethu Mohandas, Toxic begins as a gangster drama before moving into psychological territory. The film features Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Rukmini Vasanth, Huma Qureshi and Tara Sutaria in key roles.

With a Rs 138 crore worldwide opening, the big question now is whether Toxic can maintain its momentum over the coming days and turn its massive opening into a strong theatrical run.
