On Tuesday morning, Income Tax (IT) teams conducted simultaneous raids at multiple locations connected to prominent Tollywood producer Dil Raju, his brother Sirish, and his daughter Hanshitha Reddy. Raids were carried out at residences in Jubilee Hills and Banjara Hills, as well as their offices.
Dil Raju, who also serves as the Chairman of the Telangana Film Development Corporation (TFDC), recently produced films like Game Changer starring Ram Charan and Sankranthiki Vasthunnam featuring Venkatesh. Hanshitha Reddy, under Dil Raju Productions, delivered the critically acclaimed movie Balagam.
Raids were also conducted at the offices and residences of key personnel from Mythri Movie Makers, including Naveen Yerneni, Yalamanchili Ravi Shankar, and CEO Cherry. The production house recently gained attention for its blockbuster film Pushpa 2: The Rule.
Suspected Tax Evasion
According to sources, IT officials suspect tax evasion and are reviewing financial documents to verify their concerns. Raids extended to eight locations connected to Dil Raju, including his relatives’ residences. Searches were reported at his Ujas Villas residence in Jubilee Hills, his brother Sirish’s house, and his daughter Hanshitha Reddy’s home.
Dil Raju’s Recent Productions
Dil Raju has been in the spotlight for producing high-budget films. His latest production, Game Changer, starring Ram Charan and Kiara Advani, was mounted on a budget of Rs 450 crore but faced massive losses, earning only Rs 126 crore. In contrast, his family entertainer Sankranthiki Vasthunnam broke records by crossing Rs 100 crore worldwide.
Additionally, Dil Raju distributed the Balakrishna-starrer Daaku Maharaaj in select areas. He also made headlines by announcing an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh to the families of two fans who died after attending a promotional event for Game Changer.
Ongoing Investigations
As of now, IT officials have not disclosed any specific findings from the searches. Raids are also taking place at the offices of Mango Media, a separate entity founded by Sahu Garapati and Harish Peddi. Further details will be revealed after the investigations conclude.
This sudden action has left Tollywood fans and industry insiders speculating about the reasons behind these unexpected raids.
