Producer Dil Raju made some strong and honest remarks about the current condition of the Telugu film industry during the teaser launch event of Summer Holidays. His comments have now become a hot topic in Tollywood circles.
Speaking at the event as the chief guest, Dil Raju openly admitted that the Telugu film industry is currently going through a difficult phase. Without holding back, he said that the industry is “not in a good condition at all” and described the present situation as being in a “very bad shape.”
He also stated that many people in the industry may hesitate to speak openly about the reality, but he chose to express it without fear. His candid comments surprised many and sparked fresh discussions about the challenges faced by filmmakers today.
According to Dil Raju, the biggest challenge for filmmakers right now is bringing audiences back to theatres. He explained that only good and engaging films can encourage viewers to step out of their homes and return to cinema halls. He believes movies like Summer Holidays can play an important role in reconnecting audiences with theatres.
The producer strongly emphasized the importance of small-budget films succeeding at the box office. He said the health of the film industry depends largely on the success of small movies. The more small films become hits, the stronger and healthier the industry will become, he added.
Dil Raju also encouraged young filmmakers to come forward with fresh ideas and meaningful stories. He praised directors who started with small films and later delivered major successes, mentioning filmmakers like Rajesh, Pawan, and Sai as inspiring examples for the younger generation.
He particularly appreciated the success journey of the director behind Baby and said such talented filmmakers are giving new hope to the industry. Watching so many new directors on the Summer Holidays stage at once made him feel optimistic about the future of Telugu cinema, he said.
Concluding his speech, Dil Raju wished the Summer Holidays team success and expressed confidence that talented newcomers and innovative storytelling are the keys to keeping the film industry alive and thriving.
