Rajinikanth’s Mass Vibe Meets Shamna Kasim’s Energy in ‘Ala Bolelo’

The much-awaited first song from Jailer 2, titled Ala Bolelo, is finally out. Composed and sung by Anirudh Ravichander, the peppy dance number features Superstar Rajinikanth and Shamna Kasim and comes with a strong Kerala flavour, making its release timely for Onam celebrations.

Ala Bolelo Brings Rajinikanth and Shamna Kasim Together

The four-minute lyrical video of Ala Bolelo was released on Friday evening. Anirudh Ravichander has composed and sung the track, while Arunraja Kamaraj has penned the lyrics. Niranjana Raman, Aparna Harikumar and Deepthi Suresh have contributed additional vocals.

Shamna Kasim grabs attention in the song as she dances in a traditional kasavu saree, adding a distinctly Kerala touch to the number. Rajinikanth also makes an appearance in the video, with his expressions seemingly showing his approval of Shamna’s performance.

Ala Bolelo Faces Criticism After Promo Release

While the song was expected to become an instant festive favourite, its promotional clips had already sparked criticism online. Several Malayali viewers objected to the pronunciation of Malayalam words in the promos.

Some social media users questioned why a Malayali singer and lyricist were not brought on board for a song designed as an Onam tribute. Others felt that Anirudh’s vocals in the promo sounded unclear and described parts of the lyrics as gibberish.

Another promotional clip also drew attention after fans spotted what appeared to be a dance-sync error involving a backup dancer performing close to Shamna.

What to Expect From Jailer 2

Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, Jailer 2 is produced by Kalanithi Maran under the Sun Pictures banner. The film is the sequel to the blockbuster Jailer, which was released in 2023 and featured Rajinikanth as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian.

Rajinikanth and Ramya Krishnan are set to reprise their roles as Muthuvel Pandian and Vijaya Pandian. Yogi Babu, Mirnaa and Rithvik are also returning to the sequel.

The first Jailer featured memorable cameos from Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar and Jackie Shroff, and they are expected to make appearances in the sequel as well. Meanwhile, SJ Suryah, Mithun Chakraborty, Vidya Balan, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Anna Rajan and Jatin Sarna have joined the cast.

There has also been considerable buzz around possible appearances by Hrithik Roshan and Vijay Sethupathi, while reports previously suggested that Shah Rukh Khan and Nandamuri Balakrishna were approached for cameos.

Jailer 2 Release Date

The first Jailer followed Muthuvel Pandian, a retired jailer who returns to his old ways after his family is threatened during his son’s investigation into an idol-smuggling network. The film ended on a dramatic note, setting the stage for a possible continuation.

With Jailer 2 expected to take the story forward, expectations are already high among Rajinikanth fans. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on October 15.
