After receiving numerous complaints regarding rampant film piracy, the Telangana Police have made a significant breakthrough. For years, the piracy website iBomma has been accused of uploading newly released movies, causing heavy losses to filmmakers. In a major development, the authorities have now arrested the founder of the notorious site.
According to reports, iBomma founder Immadi Ravi was detained by the Kukatpally CCS Police upon his arrival from France last night. Investigations have revealed that Ravi had been operating the piracy platform from the Caribbean Islands, managing its activities remotely while staying abroad.
Police officials have taken him into custody and initiated a detailed investigation into the network, financial trail, and individuals associated with the website. Several film producers had previously lodged complaints accusing iBomma of uploading movies on the day of release, prompting strict action.
More information about the arrest and the next steps in the legal proceedings is expected soon.
