Dance choreographer Jani Master, who is known for a number of popular dance moves, has been booked by the Hyderabad police under IPC sections dealing with rape, criminal intimidation and voluntarily causing hurt.
Media reports on Monday stated that a 21-year-old woman is the complainant. She has accused Jani of sexually assaulting her multiple times during their shoots. As per the complainant, Jani violated her in Chennai, Mumbai and Hyderabad on different occasions.
The zero FIR filed by the police states that the alleged victim was assaulted by Jani at her residence in Narsingi not once but repeatedly.
In a statement, Shikha Goel, the DG of Women Safety Wing (WSW) Telangana, stated that certain individuals belonging to the Telugu film industry have been in touch with her to seek her “guidance in the case”.
Jani Master is the President of the Telugu Film and TV Dancers and Dance Directors Association (TFTDDA). Recently, he won a National Award for the song ‘Megam Karukkatha’ from the Tamil movie ‘Thiruchitrambalam’.
