‘Call Me Bae’ Trailer: Amazon Prime announces streaming date

‘Call Me Bae’ is the title of a Hindi-language comedy drama scheduled to premiere on Amazon Prime on September 6. Its Trailer was released today.

“Will this South Delhi princess find her place in the city of dreams? Whatever happens, a bae-ry interesting story awaits! (sic),” wrote the makers, plugging the Trailer.

Ananya Pandey, whom the Telugu audience knows as Vijay Deverakonda’s ‘Liger’ heroine, plays a bankrupt heiress from New Delhi. When tables turn, she goes from being a heiress to a hustler in Mumbai. Hindustan Times, in its report on the Trailer, opined that ‘Call Me Bae’ is a “fairytale dramedy about privilege”. The role required impeccable comedic timing, which must have proved to be Ananya’s biggest challenge.

Directed by Colin D’Cunha, the 8-episode show is written by Ishita Moitra, Samina Motlekar, and Rohit Nair.

Produced under Karan Johar’s Dharmatic Entertainment, the series features stand-up comedian Vir Das, Gurfateh Pirzada, Varun Sood, Vihaan Samat, Muskkaan Jaferi, Niharika Lyra Dutt, Lisa Mishra and Mini Mathur.
