Telugu Funda Review Of The Dino ‘Salaar’ Which Ruled The Jurassic Land ‘Khansaar’

Salaar cast features Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, Jagapati Babu, Saptagiri, Babu Singh, Eeshwari Raavu, Shriya Reddy, Jan Vijay, Jhansi, Prithviraj, Tinu Anand, and others. The movie is penned and directed by Prashant Neel, produced under the banner of Vijay Kiragandur’s Hombale Films. Bhuvan Gowda handles the cinematography, Ujwal Kulkarni takes charge of editing, while Ravi Basrur creates the music. The film is slated to hit the screens on December 22, 2023. 

Plot

The story revolves around Deva alias Salaar (Prabhas), who works as a mechanic in a region in Assam. Chaos ensues when he kidnaps Adhyana (Shruti Haasan) from that region, disrupting the peace. Deva saves her when some try to exploit her, while his friend, after 25 years, brings Varadaraj Mannar (Prithviraj Sukumaran) to the same region.

Why is Deva there with his mother Eshwari Devi in Assam? Why do they take Adhyana to that region? How did the province of Khansaar in the border areas of India transform into a kingdom? What challenges does Mannar’s dynasty face in governing that province? Why did they opt for a ceasefire in Khansaar? Why does Deva come to Varadaraj Mannar during the voting time? Why does Varadaraj Mannar leave his province? Why does Deva become a threat during the ceasefire voting time? Who won in the voting? What’s the link to Deva’s bravery event? And why was Deva named Salaar? All these questions find their answers in this movie’s storyline.

Performances

Obviously Prabhas stole the show but along with the stunning performance of Prithviraj and Eswari Rao.

The portrayal of the character “Underdog” in the first half appears intriguing, hinting at a revelation in the second half. The Kateramma episode, along with Vishnu’s fatherly presence, seems to rediscover a different side of Prabhas. Prithviraj Sukumaran convincingly embodies the role of Varadaraj Mannar. Shruti Haasan appears compelling in a character driving the narrative. Eeshwari Raavu, Jagapati Babu, and others seem to leave a strong impact with their powerful characters

The boys performed in the childhood of Prabhas and Prithviraj deserves a note, especially the child Varadaraj Mannar.

Shruthi is very limited but was notable in the very small space.

Jhansi was given a peculiar role and she was brilliant in it.

All the others even in very minute roles gave their 100%.

Telugu Funda Analysis

Deva, with Varadaraj Mannar’s childhood and a powerful episode, marks the beginning of the Salar movie. Subsequently, chaos erupts in the mines of Assam, establishing Deva as the character “Underdog,” and the abduction incident unfolds dynamically. Initially, the way Prashant Neel established the character shift from Deva to a hero in the first half showcases remarkable talent. Now, the storyline delves into Deva’s life in the second half. The transformation of the Khansaar border area into a country, the intense narrative shift due to Rajamannar’s newly found authority over numerous territories, intensifies the plot. However, conflicts arise when Rajamannar’s actions jeopardize the country, leading to family disputes. The narrative highlights the clashes within the Khansaar dynasty and introduces Varadaraj Mannar, weaving Deva into the story. In a thrilling episode within the second half, Vishnu, accompanied by his father, elevates the film to another level. Prabhas’ portrayal in the second half deserves mention for offering his fans a glimpse of his versatile acting skills. The climax will haunt everyone until the next part of Salaar releases.

Technical Aspects

Director Prashant Neel’s arrival brings a remarkable variation with another incredible script. He has astoundingly reshaped the characters played by Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran. 

His designed screenplays have transformed the movie into something more powerful. It’s worth mentioning that Salar may showcase a different dimension with superior craftsmanship. It’s possible that it could redefine Salar with enhanced finesse. Prabhas, as Deva, once again presents a distinct portrayal, shedding the image of a warrior seen in his previous roles like Bahubali.
