Actor Vijay Sethupathi has officially confirmed his upcoming collaboration with ace filmmaker Mani Ratnam. The project, which has been the subject of strong buzz over the past few days, will also feature Sai Pallavi as the female lead.
Speaking about the film, Vijay Sethupathi revealed that this collaboration will be vastly different from his previous outing with Mani Ratnam in Chekka Chivantha Vaanam. “I’ve worked with Mani Sir before in Chekka Chivantha Vaanam. This time, we’re doing something completely different. Sai Pallavi is playing the female lead. The Vijay Sethupathi who entered the industry seeking small roles is still alive,” he shared.
The actor further emphasized that he wants to retain the same passion and hunger that marked his early days in cinema, even while working alongside a master filmmaker like Mani Ratnam.
The yet-untitled romantic drama is expected to be jointly produced by Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions. The shooting is likely to commence this summer.
