The much-awaited Tamil film Amaran, starring Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi, has become one of the biggest blockbusters of 2024, grossing over ₹320 crore globally. Based on the life of Ashok Chakra awardee Major Mukund Varadarajan, the film continues to dominate the box office, even after four weeks in theatres. As per media reports, Amaran will be available for streaming on Netflix from December 5, 2024.

The film chronicles the courageous journey of Major Mukund Varadarajan, his bond with his wife Indu Rebecca Varghese (played by Sai Pallavi), and his heroic sacrifice during a terrorist attack in Kashmir. Directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy and produced by Kamal Haasan, the movie offers a powerful portrayal of the challenges faced by Major Mukund, making it an emotional and gripping experience for viewers.

Amaran has sold over 4.5 million tickets, making it Sivakarthikeyan’s highest-grossing film to date. The movie has surpassed many other big releases in 2024 and is considered one of the top Tamil films of the year. Due to its exceptional box office performance, the film’s OTT release was delayed by a week. Initially expected to release after 28 days, it will now stream on Netflix starting December 5, a five-week window after its theatrical release.
