Saindhav Review: Heart Touching Action Father-Daughter Tale

Saindhav Review from Telugu Funda

The beloved actor, Venkatesh, has collaborated with Sailesh Kolanu, renowned for the success of HIT, for the action-packed drama “Saindhav.” Marking Venkatesh’s 75th film, this cinematic venture features a stellar ensemble cast. Notably, the versatile actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui is making his debut in the Telugu film industry. Let’s delve into the cinematic experience that “Saindhav” promises to deliver.

Plot

The story begins in the fictional city of Chandraprastha, the film revolves around Saindhav Koneru, also known as SaiKo (Venkatesh). Employed as a crane operator in the customs department, Saindhav is a devoted father to his daughter Gayathri (Baby Sara Palekar). Gayathri, cared for by Manogya (Shraddha Srinath), a cab driver, faces a health crisis when she faints at school.

The doctors diagnose her with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), and a costly injection of 17 crores becomes imperative for her treatment. The film unfolds the compelling narrative of Saindhav’s efforts to save his daughter and explores the connection between him and Mitra (Mukesh Rishi), the leader of a cartel involved in the illicit trade of drugs and weapons.

Performances

Victory Venkatesh is a versatile actor capable of embodying any character with unwavering conviction. In this film, Venky undeniably stands out as the heart and soul, shouldering the entire narrative effortlessly from beginning to end. His remarkable screen presence leaves a lasting impact, particularly shining in the gripping action sequences. The movie features a few poignant emotional scenes, showcasing Venkatesh’s exceptional talent and mastery in delivering performances.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui gives his best effort, but unfortunately, the script doesn’t provide him with the opportunity to truly shine.

Andrea Jeremiah, Shraddha Srinath, Ruhani Sharma, Jisshu Sengupta, Arya, Mukesh Rishi, and Jayaprakash deserved more substantial roles that could showcase their abilities to a greater extent.

Technical Specifications

The fictional city, Chandra Prastha, being visually captured in a meticulous manner by cinematographer Manikandan.

The art direction team deserves credit for their impressive work, contributing to the overall appeal of the film.

The potential impact of the movie could have been significantly enhanced with a stronger background score.

The editing is decent, the direction by Sailesh Kolanu is deemed underwhelming, suggesting that the film falls short of delivering a more compelling narrative and execution.

Telugu Funda Analysis

Saindhav is a good film for this Sankranthi season and the future of the film depends on how family audience connects to the core content.
