The makers of Nithiin’s upcoming film, Robinhood, have received a major boost as the Andhra Pradesh government approved a ticket price hike for its first week. The action-packed entertainer, directed by Venky Kudumula, stars Sreeleela as the female lead and is slated for release on March 28, 2025.
Ticket Price Hike Details
In a strategic move to maximize the film’s opening collections, the government has permitted an increase in ticket prices across the state. As per the official order:
Multiplex ticket prices will rise by Rs 75 above the standard rate.
Single-screen tickets will see a Rs 50 hike.
This revised pricing will be in effect for the first week of the film’s release. The decision aims to boost the film’s revenue during its crucial opening days, capitalizing on the high pre-release buzz.
High Expectations and Star Power
Robinhood has been creating a lot of excitement with its aggressive promotional campaigns. The film introduces David Warner, the Australian cricket star, to Indian cinema with a cameo role. His appearance has generated additional curiosity, especially after he recreated Allu Arjun’s iconic Srivalli hook step at the pre-release event.
The film also features an impressive supporting cast, including Rajendra Prasad, Vennela Kishore, and Shine Tom Chacko, with music composed by G.V. Prakash Kumar.
Plot and Production Details
The film revolves around Ram, a modern-day Robin Hood and master thief, played by Nithiin. His life takes a twist when he becomes the personal security officer for Neera, portrayed by Sreeleela, leading to a rollercoaster of action, comedy, and unexpected turns.
Robinhood is backed by Mythri Movie Makers and is reportedly made on a Rs 50 crore budget. With its big-scale production, star-studded cast, and dynamic promotions, the film is expected to have a strong opening at the box office.
OTT and Release Prospects
Adding to the film’s market potential, the OTT rights have been sold to ZEE5, ensuring a wide digital reach post-theatrical release. With ticket prices now hiked in Andhra Pradesh and potential increases in Telangana (which doesn’t require government approval), the film is geared up for a solid commercial run.
All eyes are on Robinhood to see how it performs during its first week, with fans eagerly awaiting its action-packed ride.
