Actress Rashmika Mandanna, who recently made headlines for her candid comments on the film industry’s “9-to-4 work culture,” has once again become the talk of the town this time for her statement about men experiencing menstrual periods.
In a promo for the upcoming episode of Jagapathi Babu’s chat show “Jayammu Nishchayammu Ra”, Rashmika was asked an unexpected question by the host whether she ever wished men could also get periods. Without hesitation, Rashmika replied, “Yes, sir. Men should at least get periods once so they know that pain.”
The remark instantly went viral, triggering mixed reactions across social media. While a section of netizens lauded her for voicing a powerful and empathetic perspective on women’s health and pain, others criticised her statement as controversial and unnecessary. The discussion has since evolved into a broader conversation about gender empathy and awareness of menstrual health.
The timing of Rashmika’s viral comment is notable, as it comes just ahead of the release of her much-awaited film, “The Girlfriend,” which hits theatres tomorrow. Directed by Rahul Ravindran, the film also stars Deekshith Shetty and Anu Emmanuel in pivotal roles.
Meanwhile, the full episode of “Jayammu Nishchayammu Ra” featuring Rashmika Mandanna will premiere on Zee5 tomorrow. Whether or not one agrees with her, Rashmika has once again succeeded in sparking a national conversation this time about empathy, pain, and perspective.
