Mahesh Babu as Rudhra: Varanasi New Stills Reveal Rajamouli’s Grand Vision

Superstar Mahesh Babu’s birthday has been made even more special with the makers of SS Rajamouli’s highly anticipated Varanasi unveiling two brand-new stills featuring the actor as Rudhra.

The latest images were captured during the film’s Africa schedule, with the breathtaking backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro adding to the grandeur of the project. The makers also shot portions of the film across the Masai Mara, bringing the scale of the adventure to life.

Sharing the new visuals, SS Rajamouli revealed that Rudhra has several shades beyond the fierce persona showcased in the latest stills. The filmmaker also spoke about the extraordinary experience of shooting in Africa, describing the landscapes around Kilimanjaro and Masai Mara as something that could not be recreated on a set.

Varanasi is touted to be a massive time-travel adventure that travels across different locations around the world. Mahesh Babu is expected to portray multiple shades in the film, adding further intrigue to his character. The actor will also be seen as Lord Rama in the Ramayana episode featured in the movie.

The film stars Priyanka Chopra Jonas as the female lead, while Prithviraj Sukumaran plays a key role.

With its ambitious storyline, international locations, larger-than-life visuals and the combination of Mahesh Babu and SS Rajamouli, Varanasi is already among the most eagerly awaited Indian films.

The film is scheduled to arrive in theatres worldwide on April 7, 2027.
