The Release Trailer for ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, doubtless, features excellent visuals. We also get to make sense of the different characters and their (preliminary) motives. The story takes place in Kasi and two other backdrops, including the dystopian Complex.
However, in terms of showcasing Prabhas, the trailer cut is disappointing. Prabhas was shown in a much more exciting way by the Trailer for ‘Saaho’, let alone the two ‘Baahubali’ movies. Of course, ‘Salaar’, too, was superb on that front.
Another weakness pertains to the use of evocative music. The song featured in the Release Trailer doesn’t suit the epic scale of the Nag Ashwin-directed movie. Santhosh Narayanan should have come up with a much better song. Of course, the same song might make the maximum impact as part of the movie.
‘Kalki 2898 AD’ will arrive at the cinemas on June 27th.
