Jr NTR Begins Shooting on April 22 for Prashanth Neel’s Action Film, Trailer Buzz Creates Hype

The much-awaited action-packed film featuring Jr NTR and director Prashanth Neel is finally moving at full throttle. After months of speculation, the makers confirmed that Jr NTR will join the shoot from April 22, kicking off the film’s most intense phase. This fresh update silences all delay rumors and signals that the action is about to explode.

Jr NTR’s Transformation Fuels High Expectations

Director Prashanth Neel, known for mega-hits like KGF 1, KGF 2, and Salaar, had already started filming with other cast members. However, the main action sequences waited for Jr NTR’s availability. After wrapping up his Bollywood debut War 2 with Hrithik Roshan, NTR shifted his full focus to this film. He even transformed his look, shedding weight for a leaner, more rugged appearance that fits the film’s intense vibe.

Team Considers “Dragon” as Working Title

The crew is currently shooting the film under the working title “Dragon.” This ambitious project is being jointly produced by Mythri Movie Makers and NTR Arts. It’s designed as a period action drama with massive sets, fierce action blocks, and a gripping storyline. Ravi Basrur, who previously scored music for KGF and Salaar, is also composing for this film.

Rukmini Vasanth will play the female lead, and reports suggest that Tovino Thomas may play a pivotal role, though the team hasn’t made this official yet.

Film Breaks Records in North America

Before the shoot even resumed, North American distributors paid Rs. 50 crores for the film’s rights, placing it among the highest pre-release business deals for a Telugu film, only behind Pushpa 2: The Rule.

Makers Eye 2026 Release Window

Initially, the makers targeted a Sankranthi 2026 release, but they are now also considering Summer 2026, depending on how quickly production moves. Sources claim the shoot will wrap by November 2025, but the team hasn’t locked the final date yet.

This project marks the first-ever collaboration between Jr NTR and Prashanth Neel, and fans are expecting an action spectacle of epic proportions. With trailer buzz already building, this film is gearing up to become one of Indian cinema’s biggest blockbusters.
