The much-awaited period drama Hari Hara Veera Mallu, starring Pawan Kalyan, grabs attention not only for its gripping story but also for its breathtaking visuals and detailed costumes. Director Jyothi Krisna sets the film in the 17th-century Mughal era, presenting Pawan Kalyan in a completely new avatar. The actor recently wrapped up the shoot, and fans now eagerly focus on his grand wardrobe designed by Aishwarya Rajeev, who previously styled historical characters in Gautamiputra Satakarni.

Costume Team Uses 1,000 Thans of Cotton to Build Authenticity

The team sourced over 1,000 thans of cotton fabric for the film. Aishwarya partnered with weavers from Telangana, Surat, and Mumbai to craft costumes with a natural, realistic feel. She chose earthy tones like brown and maroon and relied on natural dyes instead of glossy materials. This decision gave the costumes a grounded and authentic touch, matching the film’s historic setting.

Pawan Kalyan Wears 20+ Outfits with a Traditional-Modern Twist

Pawan Kalyan sports over 20 different costumes in the movie. His primary outfits include kurtas and dhotis made from 90% cotton and 10% stretchable suede, offering both comfort and style. Aishwarya designed his look to reflect South Indian tradition while adding a contemporary flair. This blend gives his character depth and a modern cinematic appeal.

Accessories Add Power and Meaning

The team carefully selected each accessory to reflect cultural richness. Pawan wears a neck amulet symbolizing Goddess Ammavaru (Maa), along with a bracelet and an eagle motif tied around his waist. A vibrant red Kashmiri Pashmina shawl adds drama and grace to his appearance.

Artisan Crafts 20 Pairs of Leather Chappals

To complete the look, artisan Venkateswara Rao handcrafted 20 custom leather chappals for the actor. These bespoke footwear pieces enhance the traditional appeal of his role and showcase the team’s attention to detail.

500 Kilos of Jewelry Create Royal Visuals

The wardrobe team added over 500 kilos of jewelry, valued at around Rs 3 crore, to elevate the film’s grandeur. They used antique gold and silver, decorating the pieces with semi-precious stones, pearls, and emerald beads. To add authenticity, Nidhhi Agerwal and Bobby Deol wore real jewelry in their royal roles.

Pawan Kalyan’s Warrior Look Leaves the Team in Awe

Aishwarya recalled feeling nervous while presenting the sketches to Pawan Kalyan. However, the actor appreciated the designs and gave useful inputs to fine-tune the final look. When he first stepped onto the set in full warrior attire, the team watched in awe as their vision came to life.
