Indian cinema bid farewell to one of its most influential filmmakers as legendary Tamil director and actor Bharathiraja passed away at the age of 85. Bharathiraja continued his golden run with films like Sigappu Rojakkal, which was also remade in Telugu as Erra Gulabilu. The film’s timeless songs, composed by Ilaiyaraaja, continue to resonate with movie lovers even today.

Such was Bharathiraja’s stature that even Megastar Chiranjeevi aspired to work with him during the peak of his career. Their collaboration resulted in Aradhana, produced by Allu Aravind. Though the film did not achieve the commercial success of its original version, it remains a memorable chapter in both their careers.

Vizag Steel Plant Tragedy: ₹25 Lakh Ex-Gratia, Permanent Job for Victims Families
